What's a Venice home without bewitching canal views? Nestled in the artsy Dorsoduro district and spread over two floors, this home is perfect for couples who want their own space when travelling with others. We're swooning over the traditional Venetian decor, as well as the ivy-covered Juliet balcony that overlooks the bridges on Rio Del Malpaga. However, it's the rooftop terrace that first grabbed our attention here – a perfect spot for afternoon cocktails in the sunshine. After a few of those, take a short stroll over to the nearby trendy bars and restaurants or spend the day exploring the city on foot – there's plenty within walking distance.

Home truths

There's no lift here. You'll need to be able to climb stairs to reach the entrance of the home. The third bedroom is also accessed via the terrace, which is up another flight of steps.

The terrace is high up. It wouldn't be suitable for someone who has a fear of heights, and any young children need to be supervised at all times.

Toiletries aren't provided, so you'll need to bring your own. If you want to stock up on arrival, the nearest supermarket is a short walk away.

Given the central spot, expect to hear some noise throughout your stay.

There's a ground-floor laundry room here that may be shared with other guests.

You won't need a car in Venice. Instead of driving, explore on foot.

About Dorsoduro

Located just south of Rialto, Dorsoduro is a large and culturally rich quarter. The majority of Ca' Foscari (the main university in the city) is in this area, so the people here skew young and trendy. It’s one of Venice’s best spots for nightlife, with crowds gathering in squares deep into the summer evenings. There are also pockets of calm though, like the canalside paths which offer panoramic views over...
