Swanky in every way, Schwerin reminds us of German fairytale castles. While Schöneberg isn’t exactly located atop a hill with panoramic views of forests and mountains (like a real castle), it does offer a lot in terms of local Berlin restaurants and shops. We love the high ceilings, stucco details and luxurious materials, perfect for channelling your inner regal self.

Home truths
This home comes with some wear and tear – we noticed some scuff marks and minor stains on furniture when we visited
This flat is specially designed for rental guests – just a heads up that it is not a lived-in home if that is the experience you are after
We know we’re picky, but the bedding isn’t as luxurious as we would have liked it to be
The bathroom feels a bit tired and could perhaps do with a bit of an update
The host owns several, near-identical homes in the same building – the layout and design might vary slightly depending on which floor you stay on
This home is filled with weird and wonderful things, if you’re a minimalist at heart, you should probably look elsewhere

Since the early 20th century, Schöneberg has been the heart of Berlin’s LGBTQ+ community with the area around Nollendorfplatz being particularly important. Since 1993,...
