Do you have a question about this home or the local area?

Just around the corner from Plaza Mayor, Tropical Alien exudes the essence of a casually luxurious home you might find in the Hamptons, only this time you'll be feeling all beachy in Madrid’s Old Town. The host Cara has taught herself how to build outdoor furniture and with months of perseverance, a dreamy space was born on the terrace. The whole set was upcycled from the interior beams – but don't worry, the insides are equally lovely. The bedroom in particular, while not massive, has a wonderfully peaceful atmosphere, thanks to the soft colours and natural materials.

About Opera y Palacio Real

The small neighbourhood of Opera y Palacio Real sits next to the Royal Palace and its grand squares with manicured gardens. It’s also home to El Teatro Royal, the grand opera house. This part of town has an abundance of space and is far less busy than other parts of central Madrid – the calmness of the area makes it popular with families. You’ll find high-end local shops to peruse, as well as excellent restaurants, in this refined and sedate neighbourhood.
