Do you have a question about this home or the local area?

This home is a wing within a stunning 13th-century chateau in the glorious Pays de Loire. It’s on the outskirts of the tiny village of Sèvremont so you can walk to a chemist, bakery and supermarket. But you may want to spend most of your time wandering the vast grounds of the chateau, dipping in and out of the shared swimming pool and gathering for lunch on the private terrace. Rooms are decked out as if for nobles of the 17th century with a charming library-like living room featuring a grand piano and a tapestry-lined dining room big enough for banquets. Bedrooms feature four-poster beds and antique bureaus to get a little work done if you need.

Home truths

While one of the bedrooms isn't photographed, expect the style and quality to be consistent with the rest of the home.

This home is one wing of the chateau and the main part of the building is a B&B and the owner's home. The swimming pool (open from June to September) and gardens are shared with the rest of the chateau.

Two of the king-sized bedrooms can be arranged as twins on request.

Your host can provide a cot and high chair for infants.

A historic home, there are plenty of quirks throughout like uneven floors, narrow staircases and draughty windows.

Having a car is recommended and there is plenty of private parking within the grounds.

About France

You could easily take a lifetime’s worth of French holidays and still feel like you haven’t scratched the nation’s surface. The most visited country in the world, France has long inspired artists, revolutionaries, dreamers, and bons vivants with its storybook landscapes, artistic treasures, and cultural idiosyncrasies. Paris is, of course, the country’s glittering centrepiece but there are countless beauty spots worth discovering outside of the City of Light. Sun yourself...
