Part of the picturesque scene of rainbow-bright houses clinging to the hillside on the Amalfi Coast, this home sits in the heart of Positano. Its burnt orange facade and deep green shutters blend right in with the Venetian-style buildings. Rare for such a central apartment, there’s a private terrace overlooking the impossibly blue sea and rugged coastline, with a private hot tub for unwinding in the evening. Inside, it feels like a stripped-back Venetian palazzo with tiled floors keeping things cool and candelabra illuminating the open-plan kitchen, living and dining room. There’s something chapel-like about the main bedroom with its vaulted ceiling and pillars, but the best part has to be the view from the picture-frame window – out over the Tyrrhenian Sea. It’s also got its own kitchenette, for those that enjoy a little more privacy. In Positano you’ve got plenty to keep you occupied – the horse-shoe of sandy and pebble beach, restaurants, bars and gelato shops, the ancient Chiesa di Santa Maria Assunta church. Plus, you can join the Sentiero degli Dei hiking route, connecting several other picturesque towns along the Amalfi Coast.
