This apartment is located in a small apartment block at the heart of Oostende, just 700m from the sandy beach. The apartment boasts a living area with a flat-screen TV offering international channels and a dining table. The open kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances including an oven, dishwasher, toaster, kettle, microwave, and electric coffee machine. The apartment has two showers and free WiFi. Guests can also request baby equipment for an additional fee. A quiet and respectful neighbourhood atmosphere is expected, as the area is highly sensitive to noise. Public parking is available nearby at an extra charge.

The fireplace beckons you on colder evenings and creates a romantic atmosphere –  perfect for trying Belgian beer. Having the kitchen in the open-plan living space may dissuade you from experimenting with anything pungent, but at least you can keep the designated cook company as they prepare dinner. From your doorstep, you're just a short stroll from historic sites, restaurants and bars, while the River Leie is only five minutes away.

Cityscape Vista

This elegant home in the quiet Belgium town of Oudenburg exudes rustic charm and calm. Welcoming up to eight adults and six children, this house is ideal for families or groups of friends seeking a rural retreat amid blissful surroundings. Wander along pretty canals, ride bikes through the Flanders fields, or take a 10-minute drive down to sandy Bredene beach for a fun day of sand, sea, and surf. Inside, the interior blends minimalist mid-century furnishings, simple wooden tables, and exposed wood beams with sophisticated sofas, ornate antiques and rustic open-hearth fireplace features that creates a soothing and homely ambience. Dine together in the open-plan kitchen and dining area, that comes with sleek white surfaces, high spec appliances, and smooth black breakfast stools and chairs. Glass doors beckon you out to the beautifully well-kept garden with benches, sun loungers, and a pristine heated pool. When you're not bathing in the back garden, make the most of the coastal village of Oudenburg on your doorstep – the area is steeped in Roman history, benefitting from an array of public parks and golden sand beaches. 

The Milkmaid

France doesn’t have the monopoly on castles stays. This chateau in the cute Belgian village of Aywaille sits on the banks of the River Amblève. It enjoys a secluded spot, surrounded by nature and yet is just a short amble to the centre of Aywaille for cafés, restaurants and shops. 

With green wooden shutters and a stone tower, it’s the epitome of a lowlands castle. Inside, it’s divided into seven separate apartments, each with its own living room, dining area and kitchen, so this place would suit a big group that enjoys a sense of personal privacy. Wood-beamed ceilings and flagstone floors in the living rooms create a sense of the old world and the entire building is dotted with old marble fireplaces and spiral staircases.

Group gatherings can take place outside where there are loungers and space to dine on the lawn. The gravel patio with its wood-fired barbecue is the perfect spot for group meals if the weather is fine. It’s decked out like a beer garden with parasol-covered tables and chairs.  

Tower Castle

You'd be forgiven for thinking this apartment is in the middle of the countryside, and not a 15-minute walk from the sea. From your balcony, you'll admire panoramic views over the surrounding area, making this the perfect place to enjoy a relaxed breakfast with a coffee each morning. If you ever tire of the country views, take the tram into the centre of De Haan to soak up the traditional seaside atmosphere – this town was a popular Belle Époque resort, and its heritage can still be seen in the distinctive architecture. Enjoy a meal here in one of the seafood restaurants, then spend your day on the sand. Your apartment is a comfortable place to return to each day, where you can unwind on the large corner sofa and make a home-cooked meal in the kitchen, which features a combination microwave, dishwasher, and freezer. The washing machine and dryer will come in handy on longer stays, and you're bound to sleep well in the cosy bedrooms.

Full Fathom Five

Surrounded by the bucolic Land of Herve, staying at this huge home is like booking out a whole hotel to share with all of your favourite people. Perhaps the most impressive feature is the modern pool house complete with heated water, but there are plenty of other amenities that are sure to win you over.

When the weather's on your side, the huge garden has lots of space for playing or relaxing on the loungers, and there's also a long dining table on the terrace alongside a barbecue for whipping up family-sized feasts. If, however, you have to head inside at any point, you can hunker down beside the fireplace or head over to a games room in the guesthouse with tables for foosball and pool.

While it's plain to see that you won't be bored at any point, the home is also easy on the eye at the same time. The design is dominated by sleek surfaces, clean lines and a minimalist approach to decoration – the contemporary kitchen is a particular standout.

In the local area, there are opportunities for cycling and horseriding, as well as a forest to wander about only a kilometre from the home. You'll find a small collection of restaurants in the town of Aubel five minutes' drive away, but there's a larger selection – plus noteworthy medieval architecture – in Liège, half an hour's drive away.

Large & In Charge

From chilly dips in the Black Sea and lying on De Haan beach to playing golf at the nearby course, this home is close to some great summer activities. It's a small space – best suited for small families or a group of close friends – with an open-plan living space to play card games, rustle up light meals, or curl up with a book on the sofa. Ocean-inspired trinkets decorate walls, from a fishing net and wooden carvings to boat prints. Bedrooms are both filled with daylight from the French doors, wake up and head out to the terrace for an alfresco cup of coffee before exploring the area. The flat is in an excellent position to explore Belgium, while incorporating in a seaside holiday, with Bruges 30 minutes by car, and art-filled Ostend just 15.

Sea Urchins

Enjoy a holiday filled with wholesome activities in the heart of the Belgian countryside. Whether you like two explore on two feet or two wheels, this grand castle is surrounded by beautiful scenery that's waiting to be discovered.

The castle is encompassed by gorgeous hillsides, but it also has enough amenities to keep you entertained. A tennis court is made for those of you who like to keep active, whilst the hot tub caters to a more laid-back energy.

Come the evenings, gather on the cosy cushioned seats and share food, drink and anecdotes about your Belgian adventure. We recommend relaxing in the garden for sunset, watching the sky transform into a smoky red.
