Other aspects are a little more contemporary – you only have to look at the minimalist white kitchen to see what we mean.

Even though it sits among one of Barcelona's most bustling districts, there's something innately relaxing about the space, whether you're listening to a vinyl record with a breeze blowing in over the Juliet balcony or enjoying a meal cooked with locally bought ingredients on the round dining table.

The central location of this convenient address is a great asset and if this is your first visit to Barcelona – it doesn't get much better than this. Enjoy being within walking distance of all the best shops, restaurants, and cultural sights including Casa Batllo and Gaudi's other spectacular works of art (a ten-minute walk away). With so much to see and do nearby, catching some respite from the city is easy here – as a soothing colour palette with calming wood tones and soft furnishings create a space boasting comfort and practicality. Sink into the plush "L" shaped sofa with a cup of tea, before running a bath and unwinding for a quiet night at home. For evenings when you're feeling most energised, lap up the ease of going on nights out too – it would be rude not to make the most of being able to walk out here after all. And of course, if you do plan on venturing further afield in the city, you'll have bus stops and metro stations within less than five minutes reach too.

Fabulously located in the heart of Eixample, within easy walking distance of many of Barcelona's key sights, with a beautiful living space full of lovely period details and a spacious master-bedroom with its own private terrace, this home is a delight. Bedrooms two and three are both extremely small, but we won't hold this against an otherwise fab home. The living space might just be home to the most beautiful flooring in the Plum Collection – we are obsessed!

You're in for a treat with a stay at this contemporary apartment perched along a handsome leafy avenue of the well-heeled Eixample district. Home to Gaudí's architectural gems, haute couture shops, and Michelin star restaurants, they call this neck of the woods Quadrat d'Or (Golden Square) for a good reason.

Back at home, the pristine, uncluttered interiors will appeal to all you minimalists out there. Flooded with natural daylight thanks to those floor-to-ceiling Juliet balcony windows, it feels like a breath of fresh air to return to after a day soaking up all that Gaudi extravagance in the streets below.

Drop your bags in the spacious hallway, grab a glass of something crisp (the complimentary chilled wine will help with that), then fling the balcony doors open wide to watch the grand avenue of Gran Via bustle below. One of Barcelona's longest boulevards crossing right through the city, it's an impressive sight to behold. And thanks to its elevated position on the fifth floor, the spacious bedrooms feel surprisingly quiet at night with the windows closed and the black-out blinds drawn.

If we could choose one street out of the thousands in Barcelona to lay our hats for a stay in the city, it would always be the leafy, pedestrianised Carrer d'Enric Granado of the L'Eixample district. And luckily for you, it's the setting of this oh-so-elegant apartment. Brimming with highly-brunchable cafes, ice-cream parlours, and galleries and within walking distance of the city's must-see sights, you couldn't dream up a better location. 

Inside, vaulted ceilings dating way back to the 1800s bring all the wow factor – while a glorious mishmash of heirloom-worthy antiques and curated artwork add layers of interest and authenticity. Guests rave about the careful attention to detail here and we couldn't agree more. There's a dedicated desk area to keep on top of emails, a slick kitchen, and two fully modernised bathrooms, complete with rainfall showers to kick start your day.

But the clincher for us has to be that lavish living room with panoramic views of the city from the Juliette balcony. Grab yourself a freshly brewed coffee and peer out over the balcony to watch city life awaken below along its leafy avenue – it's everything you imagined it would be.

Two balconies – one at the front and one at the back of this apartment – provide beautiful views of the neighbourhood and you can even see a little bit of the sea on sunny days. Up on the top floor, natural light floods the rooms. The open living space in soft grey and teal velvet is particularly sunny. Glass doors lead out to the front terrace where waxy green banana leaves sprout from planters and dining is set for four. There’s a lazy hammock in the corner too, so you can take in that rooftop view all the way to the Sagrada Familia. You'll be able to plan your holiday from the comfort of the terrace as Barcelona spreads like a map before you. Located only minutes away from Plaça Catalunya, you'll have easy access to all parts of the city.

Situated a stone's throw from Passeig de Gràcia, this home is at the heart of the action. You'll find it on Gran de Gracia, nestled between Gracia and Eixample. Here, you're surrounded by an array of upmarket boutiques, bars and eateries, while Gaudi's masterpieces, Casa Milà and La Pedrera, are a ten-minute stroll away. Though being a six-minute walk from two metro stops, the city really is yours for the taking.

We love this home's elegant design aesthetic. Inside, it's a timeless canvas of high ceilings and wooden floors adorned with regal touches, from the stained glass windows to the glistening glass chandelier. The open-plan living area offers the perfect place for relaxation, including a cosy l-shaped sofa and a sweet balcony with picturesque views. After a restful slumber in the lavish bedrooms, start your days roosted here, sipping your morning coffee and soaking up the sun. In a traditional building, recently modernised with eco-conscious touches, this character apartment is set between the El Born and Eixample neighbourhoods. With sustainability in mind, the hosts have hand-picked recycled wood for the quirky kitchen cabinets, along with things like vintage glasses and upcycled armchairs. The mini-bar with local eco soaps, toothbrushes, beers, wine and juices is a nice touch and there's nothing like stepping out onto your little balcony, glass in hand, and taking in the sights and sounds of this vibrant area. Bedrooms are calm and quiet, and all the more beautiful thanks to their Catalan tiled floors, high ceilings and tall windows. But our favourite thing about this charming place is the hosts, who live in an apartment on the top floor and are welcoming and knowledgeable. They'll look after your bags before or after checkout, welcome you with a local breakfast and even allow you to use their beautiful roof terrace from time to time – where you can see across the city to the sea.

Reclaimed Dream

This apartment is on one of Barcelona's most fashionable boulevards, close to Las Ramblas and the late-night tapas bars of the Gothic Quarter. Passeig de Gràcia with its shops, restaurants and bars, is just a five-minute walk away. There’s a sense of old-world grandeur inside thanks to chandeliers and corniced ceilings, in keeping with the historic building. The apartment is family-sized, but might feel cramped at capacity with three in one bedroom and two on the sofa bed in the living room. Balconies off the living room and one of the bedrooms face Rambla Catalunya – perfect for people-watching.

Just eight minutes from the Plaça de Catalunya on foot, this renovated home boasts a central location in the heart of Barcelona. You'll find it in the Eixample, tucked away in an elegant alleyway and offering a quiet refuge from the tourist hustle and bustle. Here, you're surrounded by a delightful array of boutiques and eateries and within walking distance of the main sights. Go shopping on Passeig de Gràcia, picnic in Ciutadella Park or marvel at the Sagrada Familia – all less than a twenty-minute stroll from your doorstep. 

Inside, spacious rooms flaunt high ceilings, large windows and stylish decor, while contemporary amenities promise a want-for-nothing stay. We especially love the balcony. Offering leafy views, this is the perfect place to sunbathe. Home chefs will appreciate the fully-equipped kitchen, where a breakfast bar beckons for mornings roosted here, sipping quick coffees before slipping out for breakfast – we recommend the croissants from the little cafe downstairs.

With city vistas stretching as far as the eye can see, this home will have you itching to explore Barcelona in no time. The private terrace is a highlight – just the spot to enjoy a glass of sangria in the evening as the Spanish sun sets. Ideal for a couple or small family, the home is comfortable and well-equipped with an impressive kitchen to boot. Having said that, its enviable location means that you’re never far from a local eatery for a true taste of Spain.

While the home dates back to 1900, it’s been brought into sparkling 21st-style with an interior that reflects eco-design principles and respects Catalan Modernism. High ceilings, mosaic tiles, wooden framed French doors and upcycled furnishings create a beautiful, minimalist impression in the open-plan living room with a cool wooden kitchenette and dining table inviting Spanish feasts aplenty. You’ll also have access to your host’s office and communal rooftop terrace on the eighth floor (during working hours) where hammocks invite you to spend sunny afternoons soaking up those Barcelona rays. Outside of your home, you’re just a five-minute walk from the Arc de Triomf, a nine-minute stroll from both Plaça de Catalunya and Ciutadella Park, while La Sagrada Familia is twenty-four minutes away on foot.

This wonderful home is located between the districts of the Gothic Quarter and Raval. It's right on the iconic Las Ramblas with its street performers, cafes, restaurants, markets and shops, and it's close to some more of Barcelona's most famous streets. Pedestrianised Calle Ferrán, which leads to the Barcelona City Hall and Plaça Reial, one of the city's most beautiful squares, are both nearby.

Back at this recently renovated apartment, we loved the characterful living space with its exposed brick walls, which are more than 200 years old and its high ceilings with wooden beams. The cute balcony is perfect for enjoying a glass of Cava while watching the comings and goings on Las Ramblas. This place is ideal for atwo couples or business professionals.


Take a Rambla Downtown	

This Eastern-inspired home in Barcelona feels a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Step inside, and you'll instantly feel at ease, thanks to the neutral colour palette and simple yet stylish design. There are plenty of Japanese details to admire, from the custom woodwork in the entrance hall, to the woven hanging fabric on the walls. Throw open the shutters and breathe in some air at the window seat, perhaps accompanied by a cup of freshly-brewed green tea, or head outside to your private patio. The smart kitchen has everything you need to cook up some delicious dishes, before you gather your guests in the stunning dining area, with its ebony furniture and bamboo plants. Two of Gaudí's most famous works, the Sagrada Familia and Casa Milà are within a fifteen-minute walk of your front door, and if you want to travel further afield then Verdaguer station is just five minutes away.

This apartment offers a central location in Barcelona's Gothic Quarter and a practical pad to call your own. Just a short stroll from Barcelona Cathedral, Plaza Catalunya and the various shops, restaurants and bars, you really couldn't be better placed for exploring the city. The home's bedrooms vary in size, with limited space so you'll want to pack light. That said, we think the modern design, which benefits from traditional Catalan touches, makes for a lovely home to come back to after a busy day of sightseeing. 

The Making of a City

We didn't expect to find a home like this in an unassuming building like the one that hides the Trojan Horse. It's obvious that an interior designer was involved in the curation of this stylish home — there's a consistent theme of industrial chic, that's best expressed by the bare brick wall and sleek lampshades. There's an abundance of natural light with two balconies extending the clutter-free and clean living space and helping this relatively small home maximise its assets. Find a sunny reading spot by the window on a Wegner-inspired chair and gather around the vibrant dining area for convivial coffee and churros – we loved the bright yellow chairs. Both bedrooms benefit from tasteful scatter cushions, throws and quirky headboards that make for a light and airy spot to relax with a magazine. From Gràcia, all the major sights are well within walking distance, including the Sagrada Familia under twenty minutes away. Explore the local neighbourhood, stopping off at its trendy cafes and family-run eateries – wherever you are, a jug of sangria and a plate of paella are never too far from hand. 

Trojan Horse

Found in the heart of Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter, this home couldn’t get much closer to the breathtaking Barcelona Cathedral if it tried. Easily admired even from the living space, we recommend stepping out onto the terrace whenever you want to swoon over the views of the thirteenth century Gothic construction. Lucky for you, the outdoor area is made for lounging – grab a seat as you watch the sunrise first thing in the morning, have meals alfresco, read under the Spanish sun, or sunbathe on the turf. 

Light and neutral inside, the home makes clever use of the space with efficient furniture choices like the sofa cum dining bench. The perfect space for relaxation after a day exploring the city at your doorstep or getting work done from the workspace in the lounge or bedroom. Put your feet up and unwind with a glass of wine before heading out for a bite to eat at one of the Catalan restaurants. 

Wander the narrow, mediaeval streets admiring the architecture as you make your way to La Rambla – around eight minutes away – to pick up street food. Located just off the famous Barceloneta beach, Windclass Blue is a solid home for those seeking a relaxing beachside retreat. In the evenings, the Port Vell's nearby promenade is filled with great restaurants and cafes, but if you walk the other way towards Poblenou, you won't be hungry either. Housed in a Belle Epoque, 19th-century building this apartment's interior is just as striking as the outside. A steady theme of chocolatey tones paired with minimalistic furnishings made us feel like we were in the home of a deep thinker. Still, there are small details that breathe some warmth into the flat – the Catalan hydraulic tiles on the floor, the modern art on the walls, and the red velvet seats on the balcony. The balcony has a perfect people-watching view over the leafy boulevard below. The kitchen as black as backstage at a theatre and dramatically downlit, but it's not all style over substance as the cupboards are packed with everything you could want for self-catering. Should you need to catch up on work, the second bedroom doubles as an office. When it comes to clocking off you couldn't be better placed with Passeig de Gracia one block away, where Gaudí's masterpiece 'La Pedrera' and famous hotels like Omm and Hotel Casa Fuster reside. The apartment itself is in the 'Cuadrat d'Or' (Golden Square), an area packed with bars, restaurants and high-end shops galore.

The Eureka Moment

With a private concierge, access to a gym and a sauna too, this apartment is more of a mission to outdo luxury hotels than a cosy holiday home. Upon check-in, you'll be given a pillow catalogue to make sure your neck and head are well-rested, and that's just one example of the high-end service on offer. Our favourite personal touch is the well-stocked bookshelf with titles in all genres, while the shared swimming pool gives you fantastic views across Barcelona's rooftops. Getting around couldn't be simpler from this location in Eixample, which is home to Gaudí's Casa Milà and Sagrada Familía along with countless restaurants, boutiques and bars.

Eixample is the residential heart of Barcelona and famous for its modernist architecture – a prime example being the handsome building that this apartment sits within.

Inside, the design is a little more contemporary than the exterior, although there's a preference for mid-century furnishings that are currently en vogue. The white walls and bare wooden floors are reminiscent of some of the city's modern art galleries, especially with the large art prints dotted about the place. As well as that, the kitchen is both sleekly finished and decently sized, just in case you fancy a home-cooked dinner at any point.

The home's biggest perk, however, has to be the long balcony that stretches across the front of the address and overlooks the street below. Although it's not large enough to sit out on, it's still more than big enough for a burst of fresh air and a spot of people-watching. The tall doors leading out to this space also bring plenty of natural light into the interior, as well.

When you want to see a little more of the city, this apartment puts you in an excellent location to do so. As well as a wide range of restaurants and nightlife venues in the immediate vicinity, there are some of Gaudi's most famous projects to be discovered within walking distance, including Casa Batlló under a mile away. Barceloneta Beach is only 2.3 miles away when the weather calls for sunbathing and swimming in the Med.
