Inside your home, a lavish theme continues. The furnishings are high-quality, modern pieces, and the colour scheme of the decor is rich and regal. We particularly love the deep crimson tiled bathroom and dark green feature walls. Pick up an art book from the shelf and have a flick through as you catch some rays on the balconette. From up here, the Urquinaona metro stop is so close you can almost see it – just one minute away, hop on to be whisked around the entire city. But there’s plenty to do on foot. See Gaudí’s masterpieces Casa Batlló and Casa Milà, a fifteen and twenty-minute walk respectively, on the elegant broadway of Passeig de Gràcia. As far as homes in La Dreta de l'Eixample go, Caletre is a solid representation of the neighbourhood's architecture. Adorned with Modernist masterpieces, this part of Barcelona boasts great architecture on every corner and even the insides of an unassuming building like this one show some masterful craft. True, the street you'll be staying on is a little bit noisy, but we think that easy access to the cultural heart of town more than makes up for it.

Bedrooms two and three are both extremely small, but we won't hold this against an otherwise fab home. The living space might just be home to the most beautiful flooring in the Plum Collection – we are obsessed!

In a traditional building, recently modernised with eco-conscious touches, this character apartment is set between the El Born and Eixample neighbourhoods. With sustainability in mind, the hosts have hand-picked recycled wood for the quirky kitchen cabinets, along with things like vintage glasses and upcycled armchairs. The mini-bar with local eco soaps, toothbrushes, beers, wine and juices is a nice touch and there's nothing like stepping out onto your little balcony, glass in hand, and taking in the sights and sounds of this vibrant area. Bedrooms are calm and quiet, and all the more beautiful thanks to their Catalan tiled floors, high ceilings and tall windows. But our favourite thing about this charming place is the hosts, who live in an apartment on the top floor and are welcoming and knowledgeable. They'll look after your bags before or after checkout, welcome you with a local breakfast and even allow you to use their beautiful roof terrace from time to time – where you can see across the city to the sea.

Back at this recently renovated apartment, we loved the characterful living space with its exposed brick walls, which are more than 200 years old and its high ceilings with wooden beams. The cute balcony is perfect for enjoying a glass of Cava while watching the comings and goings on Las Ramblas. This place is ideal for atwo couples or business professionals.

We didn't expect to find a home like this in an unassuming building like the one that hides the Trojan Horse. It's obvious that an interior designer was involved in the curation of this stylish home — there's a consistent theme of industrial chic, that's best expressed by the bare brick wall and sleek lampshades. There's an abundance of natural light with two balconies extending the clutter-free and clean living space and helping this relatively small home maximise its assets.
