Nestled in the Rockies is this Colorado mansion set on 35 acres of grasslands. This warm wooden haven is a true mountain retreat adequate to host the extended family or a large group of friends. With plenty of indoor-outdoor living space, everyone will feel recharged before and after days spent reclining on chaise loungers or in the pool set into the home’s courtyard. When there is snow, you can cross-country ski off your own back-door and into the yard. The location is quite rural which means ultimate seclusion, but that doesn’t mean you can’t hit the slopes of Aspen for the day. We love that the home was built for a sustainable future, with geothermal heating throughout. Wish days away with a BBQ or roast s'mores on the fire. Not to mention the accompanying views of the sunset over the Elk Mountain range.

On your doorstep await Snowmass and Aspen hiking trails and ski slopes are nearby, as well as the Glenwood Hot Springs pool, so whether you're visiting in the summer or in winter, there's plenty to do here. Located just off of Carbondale's Main Street, guests can easily access all that the town has to offer, from restaurants and shops to museums and art galleries – it's a happening place.

Nestled between Aspen Mountain and the town, this newly renovated condo is the perfect base for a small group or family wanting to combine an active holiday with stylish surroundings. Ski-in, ski-out access means there’s no excuse not to get out on the slopes, while there are plenty of hiking trails to explore in the warmer months – plus a communal deck area where you can use one of the gas barbecues. The outdoor pool (heated all year round, of course) is extra inviting after a day on the mountain, or you might decide to warm up in front of the fire instead – admiring the scenery through those giant windows. If you fancy some après-ski fun, downtown Aspen's shops, restaurants and bars are only a five-minute walk away – and those who don’t want to brave the walk can always opt to catch the free shuttle.

Seen from the deck, this home in the Black Hawk area of Colorado has stunning, panoramic views of the continental divide – with James Peak to one side, and the snow-tipped peaks of Mount Evans on the other. Naturally, you’ll likely spend all of your time right out there on the deck either grilling lunch or simply enjoying a drink of whiskey as you survey the surroundings. In the colder months, you’ll fall in love with the autumnal yellows and oranges of the dying leaves, whilst hummingbirds are known to visit the area in the warmer weather. 

From the front porch, or upper floor balcony, you can also do a fair bit of stargazing, but not before setting off for an entire day of exploration. Indulge your nature-loving spirit by hiking trails in the natural parks and take a group photo at every river or lake you encounter. Stop off in Nederland afterwards to stock up on supplies and enjoy a meal at one of the restaurants whilst you’re out. 

Return to the peace and quiet of this home and its rural surroundings and get the snacks out for a family game or movie night next to the fireplace. Before treating yourself to a luxurious soak in the tub, enjoy a nightcap out on the balcony so you can appreciate the unpolluted night sky before bed. And more importantly, having received a full makeover in 2022, it’s the kind of place you’ll be happy to come home to after an action-packed day on the slopes.
