This airy rooftop apartment places you in New York City's Greenwich Village, ideal for a city escape. Spread over the top two floors of a four-storey building, you'll need to climb stairs here. But we think the views from the rooftop terrace are lovely, and there's seating and a table for enjoying evening drinks or alfresco meals up there. Public transport and hotspots like Central Park and the Empire State Building are within easy reach, so whether you're travelling for work or simply sightseeing, you won't get more central than this.

Just a four-minute walk to the Hudson River Park, you can spend relaxing moments watching the waters and the world go by. Start your mornings here with a coffee and bagel, and then work up a sweat in the building’s on-site gym. 

Go for leisurely stroll alongside The High Line – which is reachable in just twelve minutes on foot from your door. Or, explore the cafes, bars, and galleries of the West Village – which is a short nine-minute walk away. 

Greenwich village – with its historic LGBT+ venue, The Stonewall Inn – is also not far away, and can be reached within just nine minutes on foot. Plus, New York’s great public transport means you can see everything the city has to offer from the Flat Iron building and Empire State – reachable in roughly fourteen minutes to the Rockefeller Center – reachable in twenty-six minutes. This comfortable and well-equipped home is an excellent base, whether you’re in NYC for business or leisure. There’s even a convenient desk for those needing to work during their stay.

From here, you're a short walk from countless eateries, cafes, jazz clubs, and off-broadway theatres, so there's plenty to fill your days right on your doorstep. While we love the stylish interiors, living space is limited, so we suggest packing light and a maximum of five people. It's also worth noting that the kitchenette is only suitable for preparing lighter bites, so you'll generally have to order in or sample the local restaurants when it comes to dinnertime.

At this Greenwich Village address, you'll get to enjoy an exciting New York lifestyle. The neighbourhood is made up of tree-lined streets and traditional brownstone buildings. Meanwhile, Washington State Park and the nearest subway station are a short walk away. You'll find a sleek space at home, designed to accommodate longer stays. From the stylish chef's kitchen to the peloton bike and dedicated workstations. On top of that, the private terrace is equipped with a barbecue and plenty of seating for group dinners outside.

Quirky details, like the exposed brick wall and fashion photography prints, inject character into this otherwise minimal home. The bedrooms are on the small side, but the beds are seriously comfortable, with a TV in both. It feels a bit compact, especially with the narrow shape of the kitchen and the dining table taking up most of the communal space. Nonetheless, the location in Nolita makes up for this – surrounded by little shops and cool restaurants, you won’t be spending much time cooking anyway.

Spread over multiple levels with the kitchen up on the mezzanine, groups will have plenty of space here, though you'll need to climb a lot of stairs. If you're looking for a home base while working remotely, you'll find computer equipment and standing desks to maximise productivity. The private garden is spread over two tiers and is equipped for barbecues, with outdoor seating and sun loungers. While children and little ones aren't permitted, we think friend groups will love it here thanks to its proximity to bars, restaurants and shops.

Experience one of New York's trendiest areas from this eclectic loft, nestled in the heart of Soho. With a well-equipped kitchen, breakfast bar and dining table, there's potential for eating in, but the cafes and restaurants lining the streets just outside your doorstep might convince you otherwise. Try a different one every day between visiting Rockefeller Park, Washington Square Park and China Town.  There's plenty else to see within walking distance, but the public transport links nearby can also get you to The Empire State Building or Manhattan Park in minutes.  That's a thumb's up on location – now throw in light-letting oversized windows, plenty of space and an office, and you're onto something.

We love this stylish home's location in hip Tribeca, a neighbourhood known for its cobblestone streets lined with fashionable boutiques and chic restaurants. Chinatown is a twenty-minute walk or eight-minute ride, while the One World Trade Centre is eight minutes on foot. The iconic Empire State building is a fifteen-minute drive (just over twenty minutes on the bicycles your lovely host Yvonne provides), or if you fancy some green space, Washington Market Park is a mere two-minute stroll.

Back at this apartment, head up to the gorgeous, private roof terrace and take in the views over the Freedom Tower. Inside, textural 3D artworks adorn the walls, and dark oak floors are enlivened with colourful rugs and furnishings. For the kids, there's a fantastic play area with plenty of toys, books and games. There's a home cinema set up too. Our favourite feature, though, has to be the swing in the living area – so random and yet so right. This playful home is perfect for a family.
