Vacation villas in Tuscany, Italy – tried and tested by experts

Plum Guide does things a bit differently. We carefully curate the best houses in Tuscany, be it self-catering family homes in the countryside or luxury villas with pools. Independent home critics personally check each home for quality, ensuring your high standards are met every time.

We don't list a lot of homes, just the right ones. You'll find them all over the region, from the buzzing capital of Florence to the historic enclaves of Lucca and Siena. Our team filters out the thousands that don't meet our criteria – and if a host isn't passionate about accommodating guests, they simply won't make the cut.

The best places to stay in Tuscany

Florence

Follow in the footsteps of Michelangelo, Galileo, and Leonardo da Vinci and base yourself in Florence. Art and architecture like the Uffizi Gallery, Duomo and Ponte Vecchio bridge can be found around every corner. As the capital of Tuscany, this Renaissance city is not to be missed.

Chianti

Vineyards stretch as far as the eye can see in Chianti. Known for its namesake wines, this region is a great option for oenophiles – nearly all the prestigious estates offer tastings and pairings. Make yourself at home in the small towns of Greve or Panzano, then get out and explore.

Lucca

Lucca is straight out of a postcard, with its ornate churches, rustic cobblestone streets, and Roman ruins. Renaissance walls encircle the town centre, offering tourists the chance to stroll along the ramparts while admiring the panoramas.
