Do you have a question about this home or the local area?

In the historic heart of Florence, this loft-style apartment puts the famous Duomo, the endless collections of the Ufizzi Gallery and the medieval shops of the Ponte Vecchio within easy walking distance. That’s not to mention restaurants serving Tuscan fare and cosy little wine bars at every turn. Inside, ancient frescoes and a striking coffered ceiling are in keeping with your historic surroundings. The refectory-style dining table is huge – perfect for gathering and entertaining – and the kitchen has everything you need for self-catering. With two on the sofa bed and an open mezzanine bedroom, it’s not the most private at capacity but it certainly captures the spirit of Florence.

Home truths

At capacity, two guests will be on the sofa bed in the living room.

The bedroom is on an open mezzanine level above the living room, so this place is not the most private with four people staying.

Split across two levels inside, this apartment may not suit those with limited mobility. There are also lots of steps up to the entrance.

Your host can provide a cot, high chair and window guards for infants on request.

Pets are welcome to join you, just let your host know in advance.

While there is no free parking here, paid public parking is available nearby. However, in the centre of Florence, it is easier to explore on foot than by car.

About Santa Maria Novella

Tucked inside the thirteenth century boulevard that marks out the oldest part of Florence, this neighbourhood is on the western edge of Florence’s historic centre. The Piazza Santa Maria Novella, with its Gothic church and museum, is the centrepiece, and while the area immediately surrounding the train station is fairly gritty, it’s a convenient spot for those just passing through. Though Santa Maria Novella is not directly in the middle...

Host

This home is managed by Gaia & Pietro

This home is managed directly by a business. A member of their staff will be your point of contact before and during your stay. Pietro and Gaia are a delight - he’s a painter and responsible for a lot of the art on display, and she’s done all manner of things work-wise, and is a qualified architect and tailor. They own a handful of homes across Italy that they rent out and so are extremely experienced hosts. Though it might not always be them checking you in - they often use a lockbox system - they are always available via phone for their guests if they have any questions, great or small.

This home is nominated for the Plum Guide Award.

  • Great hosts, not just great homes – We reject homes managed by hosts who don’t meet our standards of excellence.
