Do you have a question about this home or the local area?
If you’re looking for a Florentine bolthole with the wow factor, this sleek loft apartment set just an olive stone’s throw from the Basilica of Santa Croce has it in droves. Placed in a historic palazzo dating back to the early 1400s, its high ceilings and ornate period features will impress. At full occupancy, the last two guests will sleep on a sofa bed in the lounge. It’s also worth noting that while the kitchenette has everything you need to rustle up breakfast, it’s pocket-sized. But with countless trattorias and fine dining restaurants just an amble away, we suspect you’ll be eating out anyway.

Home truths
This home sleeps four guests, with the last two guests sleeping on a double sofa bed in the lounge below the mezzanine bedroom. It's not the most private of spaces.
Well-behaved pets are welcome to join you on request in advance.
You’ll check into this home with a smart lock, but you'll also find a set of keys in the apartment.
This home is part of an apartment building, and you’ll share an entrance.
The kitchen is compact and short on prepping space. We think it's better suited to preparing lighter bites than large meals.
Given the home's central spot, expect to hear some street noise throughout your stay. Light sleepers might want to pack earplugs.

Local guide
About Santa Croce
Santa Croce is a trendy, architecturally impressive neighbourhood that’s less busy than the Duomo or San Marco districts, but still in the heart of Florence. Home to the eponymous basilica, and the Casa Buonarroti museum, it’s located in the eastern part of Florence’s historic centre. The largest crowds have thinned out by this point, but if you stay here, you're still close enough to explore the whole city on foot....

Brave the crowds at the Uffizi
There's a reason it's busy – from Leonardo and Botticelli through to Rembrandt, this is one of the most important collections of European art in the world.
Pay respects at Basilica di Santa Croce
Many of Florence's most eminent citizens are buried in the Franciscan church, including Galileo, Machiavelli, and Michelangelo.
Get a coffee at Caffè Le Murate
A combination of a bookshop, a cafe, and a gallery, this arts centre is housed in a former prison, but these days the vibe is slightly different.
Relax in Piazza Massimo D'Azeglio
A serene park in the heart of the city, Piazza Massimo D'Azeglio offers a peaceful retreat for locals and visitors alike. Open to the public, it's the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy the tranquil surroundings.
Indulge in gelato at Gelateria dei Neri
A classic gelateria in Florence serving a wide variety of delicious gelato flavours. With generous portions and a velvety smooth texture, it's a must for gelato lovers.
Dine at La Buchetta Food & Wine
A cosy, old-timey bistro serving traditional dishes with an extensive wine list. Friendly staff, delicious food, and great value for its quality.
