About Hackney
Hackney – the name of this neighbourhood is now more likely to evoke the image of a hipster on a bicycle with a sourdough loaf stuffed in their satchel rather than anything else. Filled with great independent restaurants, cafes and pubs, this part of town is a delight to explore. The green expanses of London Fields and Victoria Park are pretty unbeatable on a summer's day and be sure to check out Broadway Market and Victoria Park Village too, where you'll wander through leafy streets of period houses, and rub shoulders with London's hip young arts and media types.

Get your fish from Fin & Flounder
Perched at the top of trendy Broadway Market, these tiny fishmongers provide the area with a traditional fish shop. These guys are always on hand with recipes and cooking tips.
Enjoy a summer outside at London Fields
This spot is pretty much your extended backyard and is the ideal place to relax and unwind, although it gets notoriously busy on a hot summer's day. Expect a young, hip crowd and a buzzing atmosphere.
Go for a dip in London Fields Lido
A heated outdoor swimming pool set right in London Fields. This lido has a sun deck and sunbathing area in addition to a lovely café. It's also floodlit so has a lovely evening ambience.
Experience the Off Broadway Bar
A gem in East London, this bar brings the best atmosphere and staff. Enjoy Mexican street food, American beers, and cocktails in a vibrant setting.
Have Breakfast at Violet Bakehouse
Tucked away off Wilton Way is a totally unsuspecting building that is home to one of the best bakeries in east London. This all-female run business is the perfect spot to grab a croissant & coffee.
Stroll down to Broadway Market
This Saturday market is Hackney’s finest. Broadway Market is as much about seeking out quality food as it is about just letting your hair down and soaking up the Hackney vibe.
Catch a film at the Hackney Picturehouse
This is your local cinema spot and it's a darn good one. Showing all the latest box-office favourites this also does special showings of foreign and indie films and has an all day café.
Enjoy the Buzz at The Spurstowe Arms
A classic pub with a modern twist, offering delicious food, solid beers, and a friendly atmosphere. Don't miss their famous burger - the best in town!
Relax at Footnote
Enjoy a quiet corner cafe serving breakfast, brunch, fresh juices, wine, and coffee. It can get busy, but the lovely atmosphere and friendly service make it worth the wait.
Eat Pizza made in A Disco Ball Oven
Bob along to Lardo for lunch after a hectic day exploring 'The East'. Hip, industrial-chic pizzeria that is intimate and serves possibly the best pizza in London.
Go for a stroll in Victoria Park
Known as the ‘People’s Park’, Victoria Park is East London’s favourite open space. In the summer it’s often taken over by festivals, while its V&A Playground is also wonderful for youngsters.
