For a fuss-free stay in the heart of Milan, look no further than this apartment. Located in the buzzing San Marco district, you'll be close to the Duomo (a twenty-minute stroll), Pinacoteca di Brera (eight minutes on foot), and the shops and cafes on Corso Garibaldi (only moments away). It's not the biggest apartment, nor the brightest, but it has all you'll need – a compact kitchen, a cosy bedroom, and speedy wi-fi if you're working from home. There's also a sofa bed for guests three and four, though we think it's a better fit for two.

Home truths
At full capacity, two guests will sleep on a sofa bed in the living room. That said, we think it'd be a squeeze for four guests – particularly four adults – so we'd recommend a maximum guest count of three.
If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a cot upon request.
While we love the sleek design of this apartment, it lacks a little natural light.
The building has a lift, but there may be some stairs to climb.
This apartment is in a central location near a busy road. Some slight noise is likely.
The communal areas of this building, including the lift and entrance hallway, may appear a little worn and dated in parts. We think it could be refurbished.
The central heating is remotely managed.
