About Dorset
If you want to immerse yourself in the England of yesteryear, a trip to the county of Dorset is a good place to start. The author Thomas Hardy seemed to concur – he drew heavily on his experience growing up around these parts to create the fictionalised rural idyll of Wessex that was the setting for many of his books. Explore Monkey World - Ape Rescue Centre
Get up close with rescued primates at this natural and well-designed animal park. Watch orangutans play with towels and see chimps use their hands to reach broccoli. A lovely place for a day out with the family.
Explore The Tank Museum
Immerse yourself in the world of tanks at The Tank Museum. With a large display, interactive activities, regular exhibitions, and events, this museum offers a fantastic day out for all ages. Don't miss the chance to see the only operational Tiger 1 in the world!
Enjoy Tea at The Dovecote Café
Experience delicious homemade food in a charming café set inside a garden center. As well as the tea & scones the full English breakfast is highly recommended, with fresh tomatoes, mushrooms, and the option to add black pudding. A great place to eat!
