From Dusk Herald, the Vatican, Piazza Navona and Trastevere are all easily reachable on foot. You’ve also got the Tiber just around the corner – it’s hard to overstate just how well-placed the flat is. Inside it’s simple, but with a pretty wooden ceiling upstairs, and lots of light. The kitchen is a little beige, but we did like the geometric wallpaper. We also noticed a lot of birdsong coming through the windows, which added a lovely, bucolic feel to the place.

The upstairs ceiling is slanted and therefore very low in parts
There's no lift and the apartment is on the second floor
Most of the furniture is Ikea, and we found a few scratches on the coffee table
