With an idyllic setting within a 200-acre estate with a castle – guests can enjoy an array of activities ranging from fishing for rainbow trout in the private loch, walking along the River Shee, skiing, mountain biking, canoeing and more. If golf is more your thing, well, you’re in luck as there are an array of courses nearby including championship courses at Rosemount and Gleneagles. We wouldn’t blame you, though if you just wanted to take in the stunning views from your private garden or hot tub. Inside, whilst the open plan living space lacks character and that country must-have, a log burner – the cottage itself is all on one level, so it’s ideal for guests who have mobility issues.

Home truths

The decor is very simple and the aesthetics are not quite up to Plum Guide's usual standards – we've made an exception to let this one into the collection on account of its wonderful location on a Scottish estate.

There are four other cottages and a castle on the estate, sleeping up to forty-seven guests in total. Speak to your host about booking it for a special event or celebration.

For those with reduced mobility, there's a ground floor bedroom and bathroom here.

Your host can provide a cot and high chair for free. You'll need to request them in advance.

Bedroom two and three have access to a Jack and Jill en-suite shower room.

We recommend hiring a car to get the most out of your stay. There’s free parking here.

From the buzzing centre of Perth to the mighty peak of Schiehallion, the region of Perth and Kinross offers both city and country living. Perthshire is where the lowlands end and Blair Atholl, with its famous 13th-century castle and gardens, is known as the gateway to the Highlands. You can experience that untamed wilderness on the peaks of Schiehallion and Ben Lawers, whose snow-capped tops rival the Cairngorms. The glass-like...

Host

This home is managed by Oliver

This home is managed directly by a business. A member of their staff will be your point of contact before and during your stay. Nearly twenty years ago, Oliver and his friend began curating the world's most unique and rustic getaways. Driven by their own unforgettable experience at a chateau, they have grown remarkably since then. Much like Plum, they believe in hand-picked luxury that doesn't break the bank.
