With São Jorge Castle on the horizon and views across the labyrinthine streets of the Mouraria neighbourhood, this apartment surely has one of the most fantastic terraces in all of Lisbon. Start your morning with an alfresco breakfast at the table as you plan your itinerary, or settle onto the comfy outdoor sofa for a day of basking in the sunshine as you watch the world below. The inside space is equally chic, with mid-century modern inspired furniture and a cool colour palette of greys and blues. The iconic Tram 28 is just a few metres away, and a short walk of fewer than ten minutes will take you to downtown Baixa, the beating heart of Lisbon. Take your time wandering the charming streets of the old town, but make sure you make it back before sunset – watching the golden light hit the castle is simply spectacular.

About Mouraria

With street performers, Fado shows and lots of unmissable sights, Mouraria should be at the top of your list. A trip through its narrow streets is like stepping back in time, revisiting the rich cultural background even before the great earthquake of 1755. In fact, the story goes that Fado was born in Mouraria, and it’s since made its way to the UNESCO World Heritage list. Although it’s quite central, this neighbourhood has a strong local community and an independent art scene that will show you a side of old, nostalgic Lisbon that you won’t find anywhere else.
