Overlooking the picturesque Rio de le Eremite canal and with a church next door, this two-bedroom apartment places you right in the heart of Venice – perfect for a family who wants to explore. While we weren't too keen on the design of the quite plain twin room, the wooden beams overheard in the living area lend the home an authentic touch. The terrace is a welcome addition too, even if the furniture there could do with an update. And food fans will be pleased to know there is a wealth of dining options close by.

This home is on the second floor, without an elevator. Guests will need to climb stairs to reach the entrance here.
