Home truths
The location isn’t as central as we’d like – it will take fifteen minutes by public transport to reach the city centre
The sofa isn’t big enough for all four guests to sit comfortably – it might be a bit of a squeeze
The wifi is strong in the communal areas but doesn’t reach the bedrooms very well
We found quite a few marks and scuffs on the walls – they could do with a fresh coat of paint
While this home can accommodate up to six guests, guests five and six will be sleeping on a sofa bed in the living room
The master bathroom doesn’t have a window which is a bit of a shame

The hilly neighbourhood of Lapa favours those with high ambitions. The promise of the most amazing views over the Tejo river drives many visitors into its heights, and few are ever disappointed. The area is mostly upscale (some extravagant architecture is expected), but Lapa has maintained its quiet residential feel in the centre of the city since its aristocratic days. It's the perfect spot for a late afternoon stroll with lots of variety in terms of dining and fado houses with some of the best-renowned spots spread over this tranquil area.
