Do you have a question about this home or the local area?
This duplex apartment is an excellent option for a base in central Madrid. It’s filled with light and has all the amenities you might need during your city break. One of the beds is a mattress without a bed frame, and as it’s at mezzanine level above the living room it’s not entirely private. This room also doubles as a workspace for anyone needing to catch up on work. We love the location of this home, just a ten-minute walk from Atocha station and within easy reach of shops, restaurants, and many of Madrid’s best museums, including Museo Nacional del Prado.

Home truths
One of the bedrooms has a mattress on the floor on the mezzanine level. The mezzanine is semi-open to the floor below so it’s not entirely private. The ceiling is sloped, too, so taller guests will need to take care.
Bedroom one can be closed from the living room with sliding doors to create more privacy.
There are stairs to climb at this home, so it may not be suitable for those with reduced mobility.
If you need to work during your stay, there’s a desk in the mezzanine bedroom.
You can park your car at this home, though as parking in Madrid can be tricky we recommend sticking to the city’s easily accessible public transport.
Given this home’s central location, there’s a chance you may hear some street noise here.

About Lavapiés
Like many neighbourhoods on the rise, Lavapiés proudly displays its rough edges. The Times Magazine has recently included it in the 50 best neighbourhoods to live in the world, and it’s not hard to understand its appeal. It’s a melting pot of cultures, bravely experimenting with international influences. Lavapiés is full of contrast — some streets have already embraced a more luxurious vibe with chic boutiques and fusion restaurants popping up every month, while others are still filled with artistic squats and street vendors. It’s the ultimate antidote to boredom.
