Perched high above Lisbon's terracotta rooftops, this luminous apartment offers one of the finest views of the river. The special home features some great design details, such as the azulejo prints, and the raised mezzanine study for those who want to work or read in privacy. We love the open-plan living area, with three balcony windows pouring light into the space and a sleek kitchen where you can try your hand at Portuguese cooking. The bedrooms are tranquil, thanks to their minimal decor and top-floor position. The location is as perfect as the interiors, with quick access to a myriad of historical streets and must-visit landmarks. Just a ten-minute walk away, you can enjoy a glass of something chilled at the waterfront Praça do Comércio. From here, wind your way up through Rua Augusta and take the Santa Justa Lift up to Chiado, arguably the heart of Lisbon. You'll pass a mosaic of artfully tiled buildings along the way – even if your itinerary was empty, you'd leave this breathtaking city feeling inspired.

About Chiado
Chiado is full of old-world charm, and is one of the best-loved parts of Lisbon. Think pastel-hued homes, cobbled streets and plenty of squares to soak up the atmosphere. There’s a slower pace of life in Chiado, which is why it’s so popular with locals. Hop on a tram to take in the open-air ruin of the Camo church, a Gothic masterpiece that was mostly destroyed in an earthquake, or hit the shops – this is one of Lisbon’s best shopping districts, after all.

Host
This home is managed by Mafalda
This home is managed directly by its owner who will be your point of contact before and during your stay. When Mafalda’s son moved to Malta, she decided the home was too big and empty for herself alone. She moved to a smaller place and now hosts guests in her previous family home. She loves to meet people with different ways of viewing the world so she can learn from them. Mafalda worked as a secretary in a bank before she began hosting in 2017.
