This pretty stone cottage is part of an estate at the heart of the Lake District. The houses converge around a central courtyard with picnic tables and barbecues, which are ideal for a summer’s evening dining alfresco. You’ll also have access to shared facilities including the heated indoor pool – which you’ll need to book in advance – and a gym. Children will enjoy the play area and table tennis. The house is cosy and welcoming, with everything you might need for a family break in the Lakes. You’re less than a mile from the shores of Lake Windermere, and the village of Hawkshead is just ten minutes away.

About The Lake District

Poets and novelists have often escaped to the Lake District for a spot of inspiration. Famously, Wordsworth pondered about daffodils and clouds during his time here. The undulating hills are tracked with drystone walls while sheep graze, and farmsteads enjoy untouched beauty for miles around. England’s biggest lake, Windermere, cuts through a valley, sleek as glass and hosts a litany of cosy-pub-filled towns and water sports venues along its shores....
