You know what they say – location is everything. Well, if that's true, you can't do much better than Monti. Some of Rome's most famous sights are only ten minutes away on foot – The Colosseum and The Forums – yet this neighbourhood is anything but a tourist trap. There's an authentic atmosphere in this part of town, with plenty of traditional eateries, vintage stores and chic wine bars loved by locals. It's also pretty quiet, all things considered. You'll find this apartment on a pretty street, only a few steps from Parco del Colle Oppio. With a bright living area, stylish bathrooms and comfortable bedrooms, this home is a calm place to escape the hustle and bustle. Pour yourself a glass of Italy's finest wine and relax on the sofa or around the glass dining table. If you're in the mood to rustle up a meal, the compact kitchen has plenty of dishes and culinary gear, though it's on the smaller side. There's even a desk in the second bedroom if you need to check work emails, but if it were up to us, we'd spend every day sipping espresso in one of the cafes, basking in the magic... of Rome.

Home truths
Six guests can sleep here, but two will be on the sofa bed in the living room
This home is in an apart-hotel so it may feel more like a hotel than a cosy homestead – that said, someone will always be on hand to assist you
The building has a porter, but only during working hours
Although there is an elevator, there are several steps down to the entrance – there's also a step into the kitchen, so this home isn't suitable for wheelchairs
The kitchen has everything you need to cook, but it's not very big – we think it's best suited to breakfasts and light lunches
A cot and high chair can be provided on request
City taxes are not included in the price of the stay and will be collected in person upon check-in

Host
This home is managed by Martina
This home is managed directly by a business. A member of their staff will be your point of contact before and during your stay. Martina and her team take care of a whole host of flats around the place, so they’ve got the nuts and bolts of the operation perfected. They’re all pretty knowledgeable as well, so don’t be afraid to ask for tips on local restaurants and bars.
