Set in an old, stately building, Heartstrings manages to retain some of that history while modernising the interiors, in order that everything is comfortable. The sheer amount of space available helps, but the mix of textures and materials works fabulously to give the space a bit of personality. Add in the fact that you’re right in the middle of Chiado, and just around the corner from the Carmo convent, and it starts to feel like you’re on to something.

About Chiado
Chiado is full of old-world charm, and is one of the best-loved parts of Lisbon. Think pastel-hued homes, cobbled streets and plenty of squares to soak up the atmosphere. There’s a slower pace of life in Chiado, which is why it’s so popular with locals. Hop on a tram to take in the open-air ruin of the Camo church, a Gothic masterpiece that was mostly destroyed in an earthquake, or hit the shops – this is one of Lisbon’s best shopping districts, after all.
