If you're looking for Greece without crowds of beachgoers, this rural villa just a short walk from the sandy beaches of Hersonissos is a perfect choice. Located in a remote spot, the port city of Heraklion is also just a quick drive away, giving you convenience without the noise of a beach resort. The villa itself is within a shared complex, although privacy is not a problem. It caught our eye for its generous outdoor space, with a swimming pool, sheltered garden and barbecue on the terrace. So you can soak up the sea views and surrounding natural beauty whilst enjoying a glass of wine on the balcony or lazing on sun loungers by the pool.
