Do you have a question about this home or the local area?
Located in one of the most interesting districts of Venice, this home is the ideal base for those who want to visit all the major Venetian museums including the Galleria dell'Accademia and the Guggenheim Museum. What’s more, it is also distant enough from the crowded tourist spots to offer a more authentic, local feel to your stay. The home’s crowning glory, however, is its two large terraces, one of which is sheltered by a beautiful arch of plants that creates a great shaded outdoor spot, even on the hottest of days. After a day exploring the city – admiring the views on Accademia Bridge and roaming the waters on a boat excursion – enjoy a perfect alfresco dinner of Italian pizza on pasta on the fantastic terrace, perched above the middle of the city.

Parking in Venice can be tricky, so we recommend sticking to the easily accessible public transport where possible – though we think the best way to see the city is on foot
The internet speed is a little slow at times
The shower in the second bathroom may be a little low for taller guests
The hairdryers here are a little dated and lack some power
Shelving in the third bathroom is minimal
This home is not suitable for people with mobility difficulties or who use wheelchairs since it is on the first floor of a building without an elevator

About Dorsoduro
Located just south of Rialto, Dorsoduro is a large and culturally rich quarter. The majority of Ca' Foscari (the main university in the city) is in this area, so the people here skew young and trendy. It’s one of Venice’s best spots for nightlife, with crowds gathering in squares deep into the summer evenings. There are also pockets of calm though, like the canalside paths which offer panoramic views over...

Explore the Gallerie dell'Accademia
This is the place to discover the city's most important art collection, spanning the fourteenth to the eighteenth century.

A moment of reflection at Santa Maria della Salute
Located at the end of Punta Dogana, this impressive church was built during the plague. The sacristy is home to paintings by Tintoretto and Titan.

Enjoy the Peggy Guggenheim collection
This private collection houses works by key twentieth-century artists including Dalì, Picasso, and Mondrian. The palace it's held in is a marvel in itself.

See an opera at Teatro la Fenice
Teatro la Fenice's name translates to 'Phoenix Theatre', a name it earned by being burned down twice. Remember to book in advance – most shows sell out.

Photograph the view from the bridge
Ponte dell'Accademia is the southernmost of the four bridges of Venice that cross the Canal Grande, and it offers the best view of the water.

Have an ice cream at Gelateria Nico
Come here especially for the gianduiotto, a swirl of ice cream placed in a glass before being drowned in whipped cream.
