Barceloneta is home to the city's most famous beach on one side and the postcard-worthy port promenade on the other. And although it's further out of the city than you may have been thinking of, it's still an easy walk from the Gothic Quarter. The reasons to choose this cool, contemporary home are obvious the moment you step out of your private lift and straight into your living area. The views take in the best of the coastal resort and the sea, and there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy them thanks to the four small balconies (yes, really). And we haven't even mentioned the roof terrace yet. It's a well laid-out apartment, with separate seating, eating and sleeping areas – there's even a workstation if you'll need to use during your stay. The sleek interior makes it look like a luxurious yacht (but without the seasickness) and the designer furniture maximises the modest square footage. Upstairs is this home's secret weapon. All yours and the envy of the entire building, the roof terrace looks out across the glittering sea, providing you with a very special place for sunset drinks. And why not end the day with a long soak in... the Jacuzzi bath?
