For somewhere between San Marco and the Rialto bridge, A Call for Calm is remarkably quiet. It’s far from the main thoroughfares, the narrow alleyways that nevertheless carry tens of thousands of tourists to and from St. Mark’s Square every day. It’s also, location aside, a lovely place to stay. The hefty beams stand out, but every part of the design works perfectly together, and while it can only hold three people, Mario looks after a couple of other places in the building, so larger groups can look at potential combinations.

This home is managed directly by a business. A member of their staff will be your point of contact before and during your stay. Caroline and Marco are Venetians and lived in Milan and London for years before returning to their hometown. Caroline has been the youngest female manager in the Association of Industrialist ever and Marco had managing roles in the IT distribution business in UK for many years. Today, they’re full-time hosts and they love it – together, they also have two children (Jacopo and Nicolò), and a cat named Albus Dumbledore.
