Fancy staying in your own private country estate? Then you’ll love this Grade II listed manor house in Devon. The décor oozes Georgian splendour with vaulted ceilings, exposed stone walls and a Gothic reception hall. There’s even a separate annex in the east wing, which offers a sense of privacy for large group stays. You can expect stately living areas to gather in with friends and family, complete with roaring fireplaces, a grand piano and banquet table fit for a feast. Take long walks around the sprawling, 38-acre grounds, exploring woodlands home to gurgling streams and red deer. Afternoons are made for enjoying decadent afternoon teas on the sunny, south-facing patio while soaking up the countryside views – your host can even help arrange a hot tub on request. If you can drag yourself away, take day trips to explore Exmoor and Dartmoor’s unspoilt national parks. Kids will also love the pristine Blue Flag beaches in North Devon, which are just a short drive away.
