North Wales is famous for its dramatic landscapes, and this beautiful home puts you right in the middle of that. It’s a converted coach house, and while it's found in the grounds of a larger manor, it refuses to be outshone. It’s filled with bright, sociable spaces and character features. Modernised to provide touches of luxury, there's a fabulous kitchen, and a gorgeous stone-walled central atrium (licensed for weddings, don't you know) between the home's two wings. Outside there's a walled garden, with a lawn just begging for games of family football and croquet. The host can offer all sorts of extra activities, like clay-pigeon shooting and archery, but often it’s hard to beat simply lying out on the perfect lawn with a good book. If you do manage to rally the troops, there is great hiking country on the doorstep, and Snowdonia is just an hour away by car.

Home truths

One well-behaved dog is allowed to stay, but unfortunately no more than that

There’s a solid stone staircase that might pose a problem for toddlers and young children

The home is licensed as a wedding venue for up to ninety guests, so do ask the host if you’re interested in booking for that

You can also book a more complete service (for an extra fee), which would include breakfast every morning, as well as a daily maid service

Host

This home is managed by Oliver

This home is managed directly by a business. A member of their staff will be your point of contact before and during your stay. Nearly twenty years ago, Oliver and his friend began curating the world's most unique and rustic getaways. Driven by their own unforgettable experience at a chateau, they have grown remarkably since then. Much like Plum, they believe in hand-picked luxury that doesn't break the bank.

This home is nominated for the Plum Guide Award.
