This is the real deal. A Grade I-listed Queen Anne manor, it was modelled after the original Buckingham Palace and some of the furniture is from Althorp (the home of Princess Diana). It has vast grounds to explore – 38 acres of formal gardens with immaculate lawns, two ornamental lakes, an orchard, a deer park, and ancient trees. And if the priceless Persian rugs and custom-made crystal chandeliers aren’t luxurious enough for you, you can always book in some meals from the private chef. To top it off, it’s only 90 minutes from central London, near the village of Podington in Bedfordshire.
