This 200-year-old cottage nestled in the quiet village of Brockenhurst, where donkeys and ponies roam as they please, comes with its own brand of luxury. The outdoor cabana with twinkling lights, Sonos speakers and squishy rattan couches calls for free-flowing drinks on warm summer evenings. Should the temperature drop, head inside to the farmhouse-style kitchen, where an AGA helps keep you toasty. The place has recently been given a full make-over by a local interior designer – and we have to say, they’ve done an excellent job. From the Smeg appliances to the chic bedrooms with crisp linens, not a single detail has been missed. After rounds of toast in the bright dining area, pull on your walking shoes and explore. You’re surrounded by endless rambling routes through ancient forests and heathland. Plus, a ten-minute stroll places you on the village’s High Street, flanked by cafes, bakers and indie boutiques. If you’d prefer to try a little further afield, Barton-on-Sea is reached in twenty minutes by car.
