Do you have a question about this home or the local area?

In a rural village in one of the sunniest regions of France, tucked next to a historic church lies a medieval priory, converted from a Manor house in the fourteenth century to a truly magical home. The interiors are the highest quality and feel both historic and luxurious, while outside picturesque gardens are surrounded by an original stone wall. The pool looks out over unbeatable vistas of the surrounding hills. The host can even arrange al fresco evening meals on the terrace, if that should take your fancy. There's also an abundance of walks on and around the property to uncover, as well as multiple local vineyards, historic villages and countryside visits well within reach.

Home truths

You'll want a car to get around; the nearest village, Thénezay, is 8km away, and this is where the closest supermarket is

The closest restaurants are a ten to fifteen minute drive away - you could probably get there on foot, but it's easier to drive

You'll need to let the host know in advance if you want the pool to be heated

Some of the wooden beams in the house are quite low, so taller guests should watch out

There are three flights of stairs in the house and no lift

Bedrooms seven and eight are actually in the tower, not the main house

This home is managed by Oliver

This home is managed directly by a business. A member of their staff will be your point of contact before and during your stay. Nearly twenty years ago, Oliver and his friend began curating the world's most unique and rustic getaways. Driven by their own unforgettable experience at a chateau, they have grown remarkably since then. Much like Plum, they believe in hand-picked luxury that doesn't break the bank.

This home is nominated for the Plum Guide Award.
