Charmingly rustic and idyllically rural, this 14th-century mansion is ideal for a family looking for a slightly different countryside escape. History lives on within this property, which harks back to simpler times. Besides the bathroom and second kitchen, the interior has not been modernised. It contains original stone walls, exposed beams and antique furnishings. Dine on plushly lined chairs beneath a dramatic chandelier and explore the characterfully-left old-fashioned kitchen cut from stone. This home, with its secret corners and stairways, will delight curious children who want to explore. Once they’ve found every unique treasure (including an antique sewing machine), they can head out into the verdant countryside. The garden is extensive and even houses a swimming pool overlooking a wildflower meadow. As this château is close to a working dairy farm, you can even spot cattle grazing in the pastures.
