Oozing in medieval character with its sixteenth-century facade and original features throughout, Mercia hides a little secret behind its quirky front. You wouldn't expect it, yet a light-filled and contemporary entertaining space features at the back, with fabulous views of the Isbourne Valley and Sudeley Hill. It opens up to a large patio with seating and a barbecue, followed by a long sloping garden, so you can continue admiring the vistas while something nice is grilling and children play on the lawn. There are plenty of cosy spaces to retire to after a day of Cotswold exploration – from the sitting room with a charming inglenook fireplace to an inviting roll-top bathtub in the master suite. While you may want to explore the wider area, you could leave your car parked for the duration of your stay, as you're just a few minutes’ walk from award-winning pubs and restaurants, boutiques and delis; if you're after some history and culture, Sudeley Castle is nearby, while the Cotswold Way awaits walkers and nature lovers.
