Escaping into the English countryside for a weekend (or two) is exactly the sort of thing Trailblazer Cottage was made for. This is a beautifully intimate retreat for two, perfect for those who love the idea of taking short trips to the neighbouring towns and sampling the farmers' markets in and around Cheddar — but it's also perfect for those who just want to relax. Staying here might make you change your adventurous plans and simply lounge on the decked terrace with a good book and a glass of nice wine, contemplating whether three sessions in the hot tub per day is just a little too much. It isn't. With a variety of fresh seasonal produce on offer in the area, every meal can be special and you've got a modern metro-tiled kitchen to try them all out. When the weather is less than Mediterranean, stay indoors and test the swanky pedestal bathtub for a spa-like experience and enjoy a movie night on the cosy sofa. When the weather permits, you can admire the sunset and sunrise from every room in the house as well. Light pours in through the French doors, extending the living space out to the great... outdoors. Speaking of, go hiking along the sublime Cheddar Gorge, only a six-minute drive from home. It's well worth a trip.
