Set on one of the most delightful Georgian squares in Bristol (and that’s saying something), this elegant period townhouse is a dream come true. The location is unbeatable – it's sandwiched between leafy Berkeley Square and Brandon Hill Park, which offers fabulous views of the city and is a great place for a picnic as the sun starts to set. From this spot, you can walk to all the best restaurants and attractions in Bristol, including Clifton Village – home to independent shops, cosy pubs and gorgeous terraced houses – as well as the city centre. With its ample rooms, grand ceilings and antique-style furniture, the interior radiates traditional character. Keen cooks can flex their culinary muscles in the charming kitchen, or better yet, you can arrange a catered feast with the on-site hosts, one of whom is a trained chef. There are seven cosy bedrooms to choose from (some even offer glimpses of Cabot Tower), while a comfortable living/dining room is perfect for when you want a relaxed evening in.

Home truths
With a full house, it might be a struggle to fit everyone in the lounge/dining area – not a problem if you're out and about, but we recommend a smaller group (10 guests) if you'll be spending a lot of time inside
This home is set over four floors, so there are a lot of stairs
There's a courtyard out back for barbecuing, but it’s not large enough for dining – however, there are plenty of lovely spots for picnics right on your doorstep
Host Tina lives in a ground-floor flat in the same building (you’ll share an entryway) and can be as discreet or as hands-on as you like
The memory foam mattresses have a medium side and a firm side – you can request your preference in advance
Parking spots can be arranged for the weekend only
