Perched on the banks of the Teifi estuary, this renovated former sea captain's villa in southwest Wales treats guests to some spectacular waterside views. On sunny days, these can be enjoyed on the large terrace, whether that's reclining in one of the loungers, lying in the hammock or sitting around the alfresco dining area, waiting for dinner to be served off the barbecue or out of the pizza oven. However, the sparkly panorama can just as easily be appreciated from the huge windows in the open-concept kitchen-dining area or from the bedrooms. When you can prise your eyes away from the beautiful scene outside, you'll find a modern interior that integrates rustic aspects, such as exposed brickwork and a wood-burning fireplace, seamlessly. It's the sort of place you'll look forward to returning on the return leg of a long walk. If you're in need of inspiration, all you have to do is follow the Teifi — half an hour's walk west will get you to Poppit Sands Beach, while the same amount of time in the opposite direction will take you to the town of Cardigan.

About Cardigan
Mixing market town nostalgia with an arty-crafty, bohemian vibe, Cardigan is a sweet spot for exploring the sweeping coastline of Cardigan Bay. It has enough to keep you busy on home turf, too, starting with Cardigan Castle, where you can listen to the history of this Norman fortress narrated by Matthew Rhys. It was here that the first-ever Eisteddfod took place in 1176 – an annual celebration of Welsh culture...
