Just steps away from Bishopthorpe Road (named high street of the year), this charming cottage has award-winning independent shops, cafés and delis all on its doorstep. Right by the ancient walls of York, eight minutes (on foot) from the historical centre of the city, and a twenty-one-minute stroll from the York Minster, this home is perfectly located. On arrival, little personal touches like a House of York Craft Savvy Card (for discounts at local shops, cafés and bars), homemade cakes and bits and pieces to make a cup of tea are a welcomed sight. The tiled fireplace is the focal point of the open-plan kitchen, living and dining room. Plush leather sofas and a curated selection of holiday books create the perfect spot to unwind in the evening along with streaming options and a library of DVDs. Country-cottage style dining table and chairs add to that feeling of bucolic charm, though you’re in the heart of the city. Up in the bedrooms, wrought iron bed frames and stylish floral furnishings on the comfy beds continue the cosy cottage vibe. If the weather is fine, head out to the small but private courtyard and enjoy a drink on the bistro table and... chairs – It's a glorious way to bookmark the day.
