This thatched studio cottage is a stunning find. Set in the grounds of the owners’ 15th century Yeoman’s Hall house, everything from the wet room to the cast concrete worktops in the kitchen shouts luxury. The parquet flooring was salvaged from the main house, and there’s a clever space-saving dining solution. The screened garden is perfect to sit out with your morning coffee, and best of all, with prior arrangement guests are welcome to use the owners’ superb outdoor pool, games room, gym and fire pit. You can walk around the grounds and even help yourself to produce from the vegetable patch in season. If you can drag yourselves away, it’s just a short stroll to one of the village pubs in Smarden or a fifteeen-minute drive to the many shops and restaurants of Tenterden. Keen walkers will have the whole of the Weald of Kent to explore and you’re welcome to bring your dog - there’s even a warm tap outside specifically for washing off those muddy paws.
