Originally built as a fisherman’s cottage and later known as Whitstable's old sweet shop, this family home is full of jolly nods to its past lives. An eclectic mix of nautical touches and quirky artwork makes the home a fittingly cheery and colourful space while a selection of tempting sweets line the shelf of your very own little candy store. With Whitstable seafront a five-minute walk away, salty sea air greets you at the front door and neighbouring pastel-coloured side streets are replete with independent shops and places to eat. Oysters, the town's specialty, are a must-try while you’re here. In the summer you can swim at high tide before lunching in the quiet of the cottage garden. During the winter, warm up by the log fire after rosy-cheeked walks alongside the pebbled coastline - just how life by the sea should be.

About Whitstable

This seaside town suddenly came into fashion about twenty years ago and hasn’t looked back. Once a quiet fishing community, it’s now one of the most popular second home spots in Kent, and its many admirers have encouraged new businesses, bars and eateries to pop up all over town. Away from the high street, the real attraction is the long pebbly beach – known for its views across the estuary...
