Just a few metres from the beach at Instow, it won’t take you long to feel right at home in this seaside villa. The open-plan setup is ideal for spending quality time with friends or family, whether cooking up a storm in the kitchen, sinking into the sofas or enjoying nibbles and drinks together. Folding doors lead you out onto the impressive terrace, where you can while away the hours watching the boats bobbing in the estuary. There’s also a second, more-compact living room, giving kids a place to chill out away from the grown-ups. It takes just a few minutes to meander down to the pubs and restaurants of Instow, and you can catch a ferry across the water to visit neighbouring Appledore during the high season. If you’d like a little more action, the nearby Tarka Trail offers fantastic cycling and walking, and the surf at Westward Ho! is fantastic for water sports. Bring your bikes and boards along, too, as there’s lockable storage for your bits and bobs here too.
