Formerly an early nineteenth-century chapel, this renovated home boasts bundles of character with eco-credentials to boot. You'll find it in Trequite, tucked away in the winding lanes of the Cornish countryside and fringed by lush landscaped gardens. Here, you're a ten-minute drive from the picturesque fishing village of Port Isaac and the neighbouring Port Gaverne beach. Inside, it's a design lover's dream. Tasteful decor led by a minimalist aesthetic allows the building's original structure to shine through. Think pitched ceilings, majestic timber beams and exposed brick walls. We especially love the open-plan living area, with its Scandi-style wood-burning fireplace, plush velvet sofas and floor-to-ceiling windows, beckoning sunlight to flood the space. A charming archway leads to the fully-equipped kitchen. Spend mornings roosted on the benches of the Sunday-school-inspired dining table, tucking into breakfast before a day at the beach. Set across four floors and with ample outdoor space, this home is the perfect base for large groups. If there's a canine companion in your ranks, they'll love bounding across the lush sloping lawn or napping on the front-facing deck. Here, comfy rattan sofas provide a peaceful spot for coffees in the sunshine, while the downstairs games room is the perfect place... to enjoy a game of pool, whatever the weather. After busy days, regroup on the dining patio for an evening cookout, rounded off with marshmallow roasting around the chiminea. Though if you don't fancy cooking, we recommend the award-winning St Kew Inn for food, wine and Cornish cider, a ten-minute stroll from your doorstep.
