This extraordinary modern ranch hidden away between soaring San Jacinto mountain views and swaying palm trees was built by legendary funnyman Jerry Lewis in 1957. It was here he wrote many of his most famous movies, including The Nutty Professor. Nevertheless, it is safe to say the comedy icon most definitely took things seriously when it came to designing this exceptional Palm Springs home. The vibe here is sleek with dashes of bright hues. In the living room, you’ll notice a grand custom-built fireplace, and the chef’s kitchen has designer cabinets, stainless steel appliances and a floating island – ideal for any keen foodie. But one of our favourite touches has to be the floating bath in the main en-suite. It's one of the few elements that almost verges on absurd – because of its humongous size. Outside there’s a beautiful landscaped tropical garden, a custom barbecue, a pool and jacuzzi, plus cosy cushioned seating areas where you can watch the colours of the sky dance as dusk rolls in. It’s more enjoyable than any Hollywood movie, and we’re sure Mr Lewis would agree.
