Known for its rolling hills, historic hamlets and idyllic market towns brimming with pretty-as-a-picture cottages, it's easy to see why the Cotswolds is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. If you're looking for somewhere that embraces slow country living yet lies within easy reach of attractions, this converted barn set on a 120-acre farm is just the ticket. Built with traditional honey-coloured stone, it's full of rustic features inside. Vaulted ceilings sport original wooden beams, while a handmade oak staircase leads to a comfortable sitting room upstairs. Downstairs, a cosy snug with a fireplace is set off from the homey kitchen – perfect for resting weary legs after a day of sightseeing. If you're not up for cooking, your hosts can arrange on-site catering, or you can dine at one of the charming pubs in nearby Chipping Campden, an eleven-minute drive away. On lazy days, stroll around the farm, taking in the panoramic views while children enjoy the outdoor play area. Or make the twenty-minute drive to Stratford-upon-Avon and explore the birthplace of the Bard.
