This is one of the quirkiest spots for a romantic break we’ve seen – half of a Grade-II listed church, transformed initially into a photographic studio and now an apartment. It's larger than your typical studio and feels more like an open-plan one bed with a semi-separate kitchen and gorgeous original features, making it a wonderful spot to hunker down for a weekend in Somerset. Use it as a base to explore the countryside – there are walks galore in this quiet and secluded spot, although it’s just eight miles to Bath and twelve to Wells if you fancy a change of pace. Alternatively, you can just stay in and chill in the modern but cosy environment. Guests benefit from underfloor heating and a wood burner in the winter months, or an outdoor bench in the glorious garden when the weather gets warmer. You’ll be praising your hosts that you’ve found such a heavenly spot.

Host
This home is managed by christine
This home is managed directly by its owner who will be your point of contact before and during your stay. Christine and her husband Don have lived in their lovingly-preserved country church for more than three decades and they want those coming to stay to be as enamoured by the space as they are. As well as being full of tips and advice on how to see the most of Somerset, it's not unheard of for them to greet guests with freshly baked treats.
