With the bustling Shaftesbury Avenue right on your doorstep, this pad on the cusp of Soho is the perfect base for a London getaway. Here, mid-century cool meets minimal Scandi design – think clean lines, contemporary decor and chic Hem furniture that's as comfy as it is stylish. We loved how roomy and open the flat is – you won't be cramped for space (which is rare for this central postcode). The sleek kitchen is fully stocked with plates, cutlery and other cookware to make self-catering easy, although you'll probably prefer dining out at the number of trendy bars, gourmet restaurants and unique eateries on your doorstep. In the evenings, unwind on the squishy sectional sofa with a glass of wine and your favourite Netflix show before snuggling up in the cushy bed. Or, if you crave a night on the town, you can catch a show in the West End, dance the night away at Soho's swinging clubs or grab a drink at one of the traditional pubs. Piccadilly Circus and Leicester Square tube stations are both a five-minute stroll, so getting around the city is a piece of cake. And with Chinatown, Oxford Street and Covent Garden all... a stone's throw from this flat, you'll never run out of things to do.

Home truths
This home is on the second floor without a lift – you'll have to climb roughly 66 steps, so pack light
There is no air conditioning, but the hosts do provide a fan for hot summer nights
This is a very lively area of London, so you may hear noise from the street
There's no parking here, so don't drive into the city – London has world-class public transportation so we don't think you'll need it
There isn't much natural light in the living space as office buildings block a lot of the sunlight
This flat is in an apartment building with a shared lobby
The dining table can double as a laptop-friendly workspace

About The West End
The West End is about as central as it gets, hundreds of restaurants and bars on your doorstep and you might even see the lights of Shaftesbury Avenue (London's Broadway) blinking through your curtains. It's certainly conveniently located for flopping into bed after seeing a show, but be warned you will be sharing the area with quite a lot of tourists and you won't find many proper Londoners or signs...
