The quaint town of San Daniele del Friuli often gets overlooked by visitors, but if you want a real taste of authentic Italian living then a trip to the area is a must. Located a seven-minute stroll from the centre of San Daniele, this recently renovated home is full of traditional charm and modern touches. Bursts of colour and trendy pine pieces are offset against original ceiling beams and parquet flooring. We particularly like the antique chest of drawers in one of the bedrooms. But as nice as it is inside, we bet you’ll be spending most of your time in the garden. Especially in the evening, when the sugary sweet scent of night-blooming flowers floats on the gentle breeze. Enjoy antipasti around the alfresco dining table – there’s a prosciutteria next door if you need any last minute extras. When you’re ready to head out and explore, wander into town, drive less than thirty minutes to the city of Udine, or visit the sandy beaches of Lignano – just over an hour by car.
