Just over a five-minute drive from the centre of the picturesque town Rocca Di Papa, this lovely villa is ideal for a large family looking to explore Lazio’s medieval towns. Sip a Limoncello from a deck chair on the patio, taking in views of Lake Albano and the surrounding emerald green hills. Later, swim a few laps in the private pool or get the barbecue going for lunch in the picnic area surrounded by lush greenery. There are lots of shaded nooks and rustic hideaways across the sprawling grounds. Inside, vintage furnishings (think clawfoot bathtubs and wrought iron beds), wooden ceiling beams and huge oil paintings lend the home an old-world charm. We love the intricately sculpted fireplace in the grand living room – it’s a real joy. After a day in the Mediterranean sun, challenge your family to a game in the billiards room, or gather around the table football in the annex by the pool, which has its own kitchenette for late-night snacks and drinks.
